Conference calling on an empty stomach December 21, 2010 .......................................................................
Food is the fuel that human beings need in order to function properly. But, as many business professionals can attest, the busy nature of commerce can mean that meals take a back seat to important deals. So the question is - how do you conference call when hunger strikes and there is no easy access to food?
The first thing to do when on a conference call while hungry is to avoid thinking about it. By focusing on the business deal at hand, your mind will be less likely to think about the delicious meal options to be had. Another option is to search around your desk for a snack to tide you over. Often, people will put snacks for later in and around their desk and forget about them over time. A simple bag of peanuts or pretzels can temporarily satisfy an appetite while you are in the midst of the call.
Though it may be hard to ignore the rumbling of your empty stomach, closing the deal is more important than anything. And just imagine how good the food will taste when you complete the conference call!
